SCARS

A scar is an area on the skin where the connective tissue has been compromised in such a way causing the fibers of your skin to be disorganized and interrupted.

A scar is an area on the skin where the connective tissue has been compromised in such a way causing the fibers of your skin to be disorganized and interrupted. Imagine that your skin is like a puzzle; each cell is connected so that a matrix is created which forms together resulting in the completed puzzle. When you have a scar, some of the pieces do not connect as they should.

There are several different types of scarring. Some examples are trauma caused by accidents, animal bites, abrasions, contusions, fractures, vascular injuries, acne, post-surgical skins, and keloids.

Most people believe that scars are not treatable, but they are. Effective results can be achieved by stimulating the affected area which helps realign the connective tissue. The length of treatment required depends on each individual case and the severity of the scar.
